Good news

Miss Allison continues to improve. She has been off of her oxygen since yesterday evening and has been doing great. That means that today I finally got to hold her! It also means that she was able to start eating today. I don't totally understand the thinking behind how they do everything, but they wanted to make sure that her respiratory issues were cleared up before they gave her anything to eat. So for the last day and a half she has had only sugar water through an IV. I'm sure that it feels good for her to finally get some food in her tummy! Mom was excited to finally get to nurse her, too! The doctors want to make sure that feeding is going well and then hopefully we should be headed home. It sounds like if things keep going as well as they have we will be able to leave tomorrow or Sat. Hurray!

Sarah, we will keep your new baby and family in our prayers. She's beautiful and so is Hannah! And you don't even look like you just went through labor! You look great!! We hope to keep hearing good things about her recovery/wellness. Take care and congratulations!!!

I'm so glad you can hold her now :) She will recover very fast with the best food any baby can get by nursing. Is your Mom with you? I'm planning on cooking some meals for you. I'll contact you when you come home.

Congrats on the baby girl, you stole our alternate name that we had for Shyler, funny! We hope she continues to improve, and that you get to be home together real soon!

Congratulations, Pettit family! Allison is stunning, and obviously a strong little girl (with having to deal with so much already). I'm sorry to hear you had to be apart for so long (probably felt like forver), but she'll be home before you know it. I wish I could come squeeze your cute girls- Hannah is so cute! And, Sarah, you look amazing!!! p.s. So do you, Nate! :)
